I am currently in the midst of practicing for my auditions for the musical Loserville, which is extremely exciting.
I was in a Dilemma for quite a while as to which character I should go for. Holly, the female lead, is an absolutely amazing character and I would love to play her, but as usual she's a soprano and I'm alto. So that idea blew out the window. Now, I could play Leia, she the only alto role and the second biggest female role, but she's a dumb blonde and I've got to admit that her role doesn't really appeal to me although she's a big one. Now, it just so happens that our director has chosen to change the male role or Francis to a female role. Good news! (S)he's a tenor which suits me perfectly and it's a hilarious role! Not only is he really humorous, but as a female everything becomes ridiculously awkward and funny. (S)he is most scenes as (s)he is Marvin's best friend and Marvin and Francis hang out with best friends Michael (male lead) and Lucas.
So although it is my last show with the company and I wished for nothing less than finally get the lead i think I have to think realistically and I am surprisingly excited for this!!
Auditions are this Saturday and we have to perform the duet 'We're Not Alone' with unknown partner on the day and girls have to perform 'The Long Run' and boys 'Little Things'.
